Aircraft in Season 2: Still the King

Aircraft squads entered Season 1 as the dominant meta and Season 2 only widens the gap. Carlie's Exclusive Weapon is the marquee addition — it boosts her HP, Defence, and Attack, making the Aircraft front line significantly tougher. Combined with DVA's Energy Master and Murphy's Mitigation Master, the Murphy Exception formation is now the undisputed best PvP squad in the game.

Carlie's Exclusive Weapon

Carlie's Exclusive Weapon provides approximately 10% increase to HP, Defence, and Attack per level. This is a well-rounded power boost that makes Carlie viable as a front-row tank even in the Murphy Exception formation for players who lack Murphy investment. For standard Aircraft players, it closes the gap between the standard formation and the Murphy Exception, giving both variants a significant power spike.

What Changed from Season 1

Carlie's Exclusive Weapon

The biggest Aircraft-specific change in Season 2. Carlie's weapon arrives and transforms the squad:

  • Standard formation players: Carlie becomes a dramatically better tank — her HP, Defence, and Attack all increase substantially with weapon levels
  • Murphy Exception players: Carlie's weapon means your backup formation (for when Murphy is garrisoning elsewhere) is now much stronger
  • New Aircraft players: The standard formation with a weaponized Carlie is now closer in power to the Murphy Exception, making Aircraft accessible without heavy Murphy investment

The Murphy Exception Gets Even Stronger

Murphy's Mitigation Master (from Season 1) combined with his continued stat growth makes the Murphy Exception the clear optimal formation:

  • Murphy at Level 30 Exclusive Weapon with high star count is nearly unkillable
  • DVA at Level 30 Energy Master eliminates enemy carries in seconds
  • The 15% type bonus (4 Aircraft + 1 Tank) is a small price for Murphy's dominance
  • The Murphy Exception is now standard, not exceptional — most competitive Aircraft players run this formation

Temperature Adds a New Constraint

Season 2's temperature system affects Aircraft squads like all others:

  • You need to be above -20C to rally — Aircraft players who neglect furnace upgrades lose their ability to attack
  • Beast Crisis defence matters — losing the Alliance Furnace hurts everyone, including Aircraft players
  • Coal management is non-negotiable — your burst damage means nothing if you are locked out of combat

No Inter-Server Wars

Season 2 combat is entirely within your server. This changes the Aircraft squad's role:

  • City capture is the primary PvP activity — rallying against defended cities replaces the open battlefield
  • Garrison sniping uses Aircraft burst to break through enemy city garrisons
  • Diplomacy affects who you can attack — burning bridges creates permanent enemies

The Squad: Season 2 Formations

Murphy Exception Formation (Season 2 Standard)

Season 2 Murphy Exception (Primary)
Front Row
Left
Murphy
Off-Type Tank
Mitigation Master at Level 30 makes him the strongest tank in any squad type. Left position protecting DVA. His garrison value means you may need to swap him out when he is defending a city.
Right
Lucius
Defensive Tank
Silver Armor buffs Murphy further. Knights Spirit provides team energy damage reduction. Unchanged from Season 1.
Back Row — Kill Squad
Left
DVA
Main DPS
Energy Master Exclusive Weapon at Level 30 is the strongest burst in the game. She eliminates enemy carries before they can act. Left position behind Murphy for maximum protection.
Centre
Morrison
Defence Shred
Armor-Piercing Shot shreds enemy defence by up to 25%, amplifying DVA's burst. Centre position for dual coverage.
Right
Schuyler
Crowd Control
Stuns lock down enemy threats while DVA finishes them. Right position behind Lucius.

Standard Formation with Carlie's Weapon (When Murphy Is Garrisoning)

Season 2 Standard Formation (Murphy Unavailable)
Front Row
Left
Carlie
Aircraft Tank (Weaponized)
Exclusive Weapon boosts HP, Defence, and Attack by approximately 10% per level. With weapon at Level 20+, she is a legitimate front-line tank. Full 20% Aircraft type bonus.
Right
Lucius
Defensive Tank
Silver Armor now buffs a weaponized Carlie, making the all-Aircraft front line much stronger than in Season 1.
Back Row — Kill Squad
Left
DVA
Main DPS
Energy Master unchanged. Still the strongest single-target burst.
Centre
Morrison
Defence Shred
Unchanged. Armor-Piercing Shot remains essential.
Right
Schuyler
Crowd Control
Unchanged. Stun disruption remains essential.
The Murphy Garrison Dilemma

In Season 2, Murphy is your best garrison hero AND your best Aircraft tank. You cannot use him for both simultaneously. When Murphy is garrisoning a captured city or the Alliance Furnace, switch to the standard formation with Carlie's Exclusive Weapon. This is why investing in Carlie's weapon matters even if you primarily run the Murphy Exception.

Hero Investment Priority (Season 2)

1. Carlie — Exclusive Weapon to Level 20, then 30 (New Priority)

The marquee upgrade for Aircraft in Season 2:

  • Push to Level 20 immediately — this makes the standard formation competitive when Murphy is unavailable
  • Continue to Level 30 as materials allow
  • Carlie's weapon investment is never wasted even if you run Murphy Exception — you need the backup formation

2. DVA — Continue Maxing (Unchanged)

  • Exclusive Weapon should already be at Level 30 from Season 1
  • Continue starring up — every star increases burst damage
  • Push toward 5 stars if materials allow

3. Murphy — Exclusive Weapon to Level 30 (If Not Done)

  • Should already be at Level 20+ from Season 1
  • Push to Level 30 for maximum garrison and combat value
  • Murphy investment benefits Tank squad, Aircraft squad, and garrison — triple value

4. All Remaining Skills and Weapons to Max

  • All heroes should have skills at Level 40
  • All Exclusive Weapons should reach Level 30 during Season 2
  • Priority order: DVA → Murphy → Carlie → Morrison → Lucius → Schuyler

Playing Aircraft in Season 2

Rare Soil City Capture

Aircraft squads are the primary offensive force for capturing dig sites and cities:

  • DVA's burst breaks through city garrisons — her Energy Master eliminates garrison carries before defences can activate
  • Morrison's defence shred benefits the entire rally when breaking fortified positions
  • Type-match against Tank garrisons — if the enemy garrisons with Tanks, Aircraft is the correct rally type
  • Scout before attacking — wasting a daily capture attempt on a rally you lose is devastating

Beast Crisis Contribution

While Tanks anchor the Alliance Furnace garrison, Aircraft squads contribute burst damage:

  • DVA can eliminate high-priority Beast Crisis threats quickly
  • Join the garrison to add your DPS to the wave defence
  • Coordinate with Tank players — they hold the line while you deal damage

Cold Wave Awareness

Aircraft players face the same temperature constraints as everyone else:

  • Maintain your furnace — a locked-out Aircraft carry is a disaster for your alliance
  • Stay near heat sources — do not teleport to remote locations without heat coverage
  • Beast Crisis during Cold Waves is critical — if the Alliance Furnace falls while temperatures are dropping, your entire alliance suffers

Common Season 2 Aircraft Mistakes

  1. Ignoring Carlie's Exclusive Weapon — even Murphy Exception players need a functional backup formation when Murphy is garrisoning
  2. Neglecting temperature management — your burst damage means nothing if you are locked out at -20C
  3. Sending Aircraft against Missile garrisons — the combat triangle still applies. Scout before rallying against captured cities
  4. Not coordinating with alliance capture plan — daily capture limits mean wasted rallies are permanently lost Rare Soil production
  5. Pulling Murphy from garrison to run Murphy Exception — sometimes leaving Murphy in garrison is more valuable than having him in your PvP squad
