Marshal's Guard (Season 2)
Marshal's Guard in Season 2
Marshal's Guard continues every 2-3 days in Season 2. Your alliance is stronger than ever — two full seasons of gear progression, maxed Exclusive Weapons, and Carlie's new weapon give you significantly more damage output. Temperature management adds a minor logistics concern but does not change the event mechanics.
For the full event mechanics, see the Marshal's Guard Guide.
If your alliance was clearing Level 9-11 in Season 1, you should be targeting Level 11-13+ in Season 2. Two seasons of progression mean every rally hits harder. Exclusive Weapons at Level 30, 2-4 star gold gear, and War Building damage bonuses create a massive power increase over your Season 1 performance. The rewards at higher difficulty levels are substantially better.
What Is Different in Season 2
Even Higher Damage Output
Season 2 squads are significantly stronger than Season 1:
- Most carries have Exclusive Weapons at Level 20-30 — Kimberly, DVA, and Tesla all hit dramatically harder
- Carlie's Exclusive Weapon adds to Aircraft rally durability with her improved tanking stats
- 2-4 star gold gear on primary heroes provides substantial stat increases
- War Buildings at Furnace Level 30 add +15% damage for your squad type — this applies in rally content
- Better skills and higher star counts across the alliance from two seasons of investment
Temperature During the Event
Marshal's Guard is not directly affected by the -20C lockout, but temperature management still matters:
- Ensure all rally participants are above -20C before the event — locked-out members cannot teleport to the platform or join rallies
- Check furnace fuel levels before the event — running out of coal during Marshal's Guard means members drop out mid-event
- Do not schedule Marshal's Guard during Cold Wave events — if a Cold Wave hits during the event, members may get locked out mid-rally
Virus Resistance Bonus
The furnace provides virus resistance that may affect Season 2 PvE content:
- Higher furnace levels mean better combat performance against virus-type enemies
- If Marshal's Guard features virus-type opponents in Season 2, furnace investment provides direct damage reduction
- Another reason to prioritise furnace upgrades alongside gear
Season 2 Difficulty Selection
The test remains the same: Clear all 5 tanks with more than 5 minutes remaining = safe to increase. Failing to clear = decrease by 1-2.
Season 2 Rally Strategy
Optimised Rally Rotation
With stronger squads, the rally rotation tightens further:
- R5 and R4 officers start rallies — +5% and +2.5% damage bonuses
- Type-match rallies against each armoured tank if possible — different tanks may have different weaknesses
- Members with maxed Exclusive Weapons lead — the rally leader's weapon level has the most impact
- Stagger starts by ~15 seconds — tighter than Season 1 with more damage per rally
- Cycle continuously for the full 30 minutes — no downtime
Exclusive Weapon Impact (Season 2)
With most weapons now at Level 20-30, damage output has jumped significantly:
- Kimberly with Rocket Shadow at Level 30 — AoE energy damage stacking devastates multi-target armoured tanks
- DVA with Energy Master at Level 30 — single-target burst chunks massive HP from individual tanks
- Tesla with Lightning Enhancement at Level 30 — energy damage chain stacking for sustained DPS
- Murphy with Mitigation Master at Level 30 — rally leader with maximum survivability for the entire force
- Carlie with Exclusive Weapon — improved tanking means Aircraft rally teams survive longer
Murphy with Mitigation Master at Level 30 remains the ideal rally leader. His enhanced damage mitigation protects the entire rally force, and his squad-wide HP and attack buffs benefit everyone. However, if Murphy is garrisoning a captured city, your next-best rally leader should be your highest-damage player with a maxed Exclusive Weapon.
War Building Advantage in Rallies
Players with Furnace Level 30 and active War Buildings gain +15% damage:
- This applies to rally content — members with War Buildings contribute more damage per rally
- Prioritise rally spots for members with War Buildings active when possible
- The alliance benefits from pushing furnace progression to 30 across as many members as possible
Season 2 Hero Formations
Tank Formation
- Front: Murphy and Williams
- Back: Kimberly, Mason (UR), Marshall
- Unchanged from Season 1. All weapons should be approaching Level 30
Aircraft Formation
- Front: Murphy (Exception) or Carlie (with Exclusive Weapon), and Lucius
- Back: DVA, Morrison, Schuyler
- Carlie's weapon makes the standard formation a viable alternative when Murphy is garrisoning
Missile Formation
- Front: Adam and McGregor
- Back: Tesla, Fiona, Swift
- Unchanged from Season 1. Tesla's weapon at Level 30 is the priority
Season 2 Pre-Event Checklist
Before every Marshal's Guard:
- Check temperature — all participants must be above -20C. Anyone below must fix their temperature before the event
- Donate construction parts to the Drill Field — +25% damage bonus. Non-negotiable, as always
- Recall all deployed troops — pull garrisons from cities temporarily if needed (coordinate with alliance)
- Equip best gear and ensure Exclusive Weapons are active — double-check nothing is swapped
- Position your base near the platform — teleport if needed, but ensure temperature will hold after teleporting
- Check coal reserves — ensure your furnace stays fuelled through the event duration
- Coordinate rally rotation before the event starts
- Heal all wounded troops — enter at full strength
Common Season 2 Marshal's Guard Mistakes
- Not pushing difficulty higher — two seasons of progression mean your old difficulty is too easy
- Members locked out at -20C during the event — check temperature before starting
- Not leveraging War Buildings — members with Furnace 30 should be prioritised for rally spots
- Pulling garrison troops for the event without coordination — leaving a dig site ungarrisoned during Marshal's Guard invites enemy capture
- Same difficulty as Season 1 — if you are clearing with 15+ minutes left, increase difficulty
- Skipping Drill Field donations — the +25% damage bonus is even more impactful with stronger base damage
- Running out of coal mid-event — a member who drops below -20C during the event loses their ability to contribute
