Zombie Siege (Season 2)
Zombie Siege in Season 2
Two full seasons of progression mean your alliance can push Zombie Siege to its highest difficulty levels. Gold gear at 2-4 stars, Exclusive Weapons at Level 25-30, and War Building damage bonuses make your defences dramatically stronger. Cold weather does not affect Zombie Siege directly — the event runs in its own instance — but Season 2's resource demands affect your overall readiness.
For the full event mechanics, see the Zombie Siege Guide.
If your alliance was clearing Level 8-10 in Season 1, push to the maximum available difficulty in Season 2. Exclusive Weapons at Level 30, star-promoted gear, and War Buildings create a power level that trivialises lower difficulties. If you are clearing all 20 waves with 10+ minutes left, you are wasting potential rewards. Push higher.
What Is Different in Season 2
Dramatically Stronger Individual Defences
The cumulative effect of two seasons of progression is enormous:
- Exclusive Weapons at Level 25-30 — Kimberly's Rocket Shadow, DVA's Energy Master, Murphy's Mitigation Master, and Carlie's new weapon all contribute
- 2-4 star gold gear on most heroes — the stat increase from star promotion is substantial
- War Buildings at Furnace Level 30 add +15% damage for your squad type — this applies to garrison defence in Zombie Siege
- T10 troops with higher star counts — survivability and damage are significantly above Season 1 levels
- Higher hero skill levels — most heroes should have skills at Level 40 from two seasons of investment
Cold Weather Does Not Affect the Siege
Zombie Siege runs in its own instance. The -20C lockout, temperature system, and Cold Wave events do not directly affect the event. However:
- You still need to be above -20C to participate — if you are locked out, you cannot enter the event
- Coal and furnace management before the event — ensure your temperature is stable before Zombie Siege starts
- Do not let Season 2 resource management distract you from event preparation — heal troops, set defence squads, coordinate reinforcements before the event
Resource Management Context
Season 2's resource demands (coal, titanium, furnace upgrades) create background pressure:
- Healing troops after Zombie Siege competes with other resource needs — plan for healing costs
- Speedups may be reserved for VS or furnace upgrades — do not use event-critical speedups on furnace during Zombie Siege week
- The event rewards help offset Season 2 costs — higher difficulty means better rewards that fund your furnace and gear progression
Season 2 Difficulty Selection
The test remains the same: Clear all 20 waves with 10+ minutes remaining = increase difficulty next time. Fail to clear = decrease by 1-2 levels.
Season 2 Reinforcement Strategy
Before the Event
- Identify members who still need reinforcement — the list should be smaller than Season 1 with two seasons of gear
- Assign reinforcement providers by strength — strongest players with maxed weapons reinforce weaker members
- Murphy Exception players are still your best reinforcement providers — Murphy's Exclusive Weapon in garrison remains the single strongest defensive hero
During the Event
Exclusive Weapon Reinforcement Priority
Murphy with Mitigation Master at Level 30 in garrison can carry a weak base through waves 17-20 at high difficulty. If your alliance has 2-3 players with maxed Murphy weapons, assign them as reinforcement providers. Their own bases — with DVA or Kimberly carrying — will survive without Murphy. Send Murphy where he is needed most.
- Murphy with Mitigation Master Level 30 — best garrison reinforcement in the game, unchanged from Season 1 but stronger
- DVA with Energy Master Level 30 — can burst down high-priority zombie threats in later waves
- Carlie with Exclusive Weapon — new option. Her improved tanking means she can reinforce bases that need a durable front line when Murphy is sent elsewhere
- Strong players who can survive solo should ALWAYS send their best heroes to reinforce weaker members
Season 2 Preparation Checklist
- Check temperature — ensure you are above -20C before the event starts
- Check coal reserves — your furnace must stay fuelled through the event duration
- Set your defence squad with your strongest formation — maxed weapons, star-promoted gear, T10 troops
- Recall ALL deployed troops — pull garrison troops from cities temporarily (coordinate with alliance to backfill garrisons)
- Heal all wounded troops — maximum strength before wave 1
- Coordinate reinforcement assignments before the event — know who sends Murphy where
- Stay online — communicate wave-by-wave status in alliance chat
- If you are strong, volunteer to reinforce — your base will survive; your weaker teammates need your Murphy
Common Season 2 Zombie Siege Mistakes
- Not pushing difficulty high enough — two seasons of progression make your Season 1 difficulty trivial. Push higher
- Members locked out at -20C — check temperature before the event. A locked-out member is a failed defence
- Not using Murphy reinforcement — his Exclusive Weapon at Level 30 is the single best garrison reinforcement
- Pulling garrison troops from cities without backfill — unguarded dig sites during Zombie Siege invite enemy capture. Coordinate temporary replacements
- Forgetting to set defence squad — two seasons in and this still happens. Remind every time
- Reinforcing too late — send help by wave 10-12, not wave 18 when it is too late
- Strong players not volunteering to reinforce — alliance-wide wave completion matters more than individual performance
