Chip Lab Guide (Season 3)
Chip Lab in Season 3
By Season 3, your primary squad should have a complete legendary chip set (4 chips) with significant star progression. Many players will also have a second squad's Interference chip crafted. The Chip Lab focus in Season 3 is on matching chip loadouts to Spice Wars demands, managing Combat Boost, and continuing star ascension.
For the full Chip Lab mechanics, see the Pre-Season 1 Chip Lab Guide.
The target for Season 3 is all 4 legendary chips at 3-star or higher for your primary squad, with a second Interference chip at 2-star for your secondary squad. If you have been farming consistently since pre-season, this should be achievable. If you are behind, prioritise completing your primary set before investing in a second squad.
What Is Different in Season 3
Spice Wars Combat Frequency
Spice Wars runs twice per week. Your chips need to perform in PvP on Wednesday and Saturday:
- Memory Ultra Fission (Interference chip) must match your primary combat squad type for Spice Wars
- If you switch squads between Spice Wars offence and defence, you may need chips for both roles
- Your chip set should be optimised for PvP, not PvE — Spice Wars is where rankings are decided
CR and Drone Performance
Curse Resistance gates PvE content, and your drone's chip-boosted performance matters for these fights:
- Drones still contribute damage in CR-gated rallies — higher chip quality means higher drone output
- The Energy Shield Generator (Attack chip) boosts your drone's damage in PvE rallies
- If your alliance designates you as a rally leader for CR content, maximise your chip set for those fights
- CR does not directly modify chip effectiveness — your chips work at full power regardless of CR level
Multi-Squad Chip Management
By Season 3, many players run multiple squad types. Chip management gets complex:
- Interference chip is type-specific — you need a separate Memory Ultra Fission for each squad type you run
- Defence and Attack chips work across all types — only craft one of each
- If you run Tank for garrison defence and Aircraft for offence, you need both Interference chips
- Third squad Interference chip — if you run all three types for Spice Wars flexibility, plan a third chip (800 more Premium Materials)
Combat Boost Targets
By Season 3, Combat Boost should be at significant levels:
Season 3 Crafting Priority
If you still have crafting to do, continue in this order:
Star Upgrade Priority (Season 3)
With all chips crafted, star ascension is the primary material sink:
- Push all chips to 3-star — the 2-to-3 jump is meaningful and your target for Season 3
- Memory Ultra Fission (primary squad) first — biggest combat impact per star
- Gravitational Resonance Armor second — defence buff scaling
- Energy Shield Generator third — drone damage boost matters for rally contribution
- Absolute Quantum Field last — opening shield remains lowest priority
- Secondary Interference Chip to 2-star — minimum viable level for second squad
If you run all three squad types for Spice Wars, you face a choice: craft a third Interference chip or ascend existing chips. Generally, ascending your primary chips to 3-star provides more total value than a third 1-star Interference chip. Only craft the third chip if you genuinely alternate all three types in Spice Wars — most players will not need it.
Matching Chips to Spice Wars
Offensive Configuration
When your squad is attacking enemy buildings in Spice Wars:
- Interference chip matching your attack squad — typically Aircraft for most players
- Attack chip boosted — drone damage contributes during rally assaults
- The standard chip set works for offence without modification
Defensive Configuration
When your squad is garrisoning buildings:
- Interference chip matching your defence squad — typically Tank or Missile
- Defence chip matters most — Gravitational Resonance Armor sustains your garrison through extended fights
- If you garrison with a different squad type than you attack with, swap your Interference chip before Spice Wars
The Swap Problem
Swapping Interference chips between rounds is free but requires attention:
- Before Wednesday and Saturday Spice Wars, check which chip is slotted
- If you forget to swap, your Interference chip provides zero bonus for the wrong squad type
- Consider your alliance plan — are you on offence or defence this round? Slot accordingly
Material Farming (Season 3)
Daily Farming Checklist
Common Season 3 Chip Lab Mistakes
- Not having a complete legendary set by Season 3 — you have had months to farm. Catch up immediately
- Running the wrong Interference chip in Spice Wars — check before every round. The wrong chip provides zero type bonus
- Ignoring Combat Boost — feed green, blue, and replaced purple chips. The cumulative stat increase is significant by Season 3
- Not crafting a second Interference chip — if you run two squad types for Spice Wars, you need two chips
- Uneven star distribution — four 3-star chips outperform one 5-star and three 1-stars
- Hoarding materials for a theoretical perfect moment — spend them on star ascension now. The power benefits you in current Spice Wars
