Hero Guide (Season 3)
What Changes in Season 3
Season 3 brings several hero-level changes that shift the tier list:
- Scarlett upgrades from SSR to UR — the headline change for Tank squads, making her a legitimate A-tier defensive hero
- Marshall receives his Exclusive Weapon — elevates him to the strongest support hero in the game
- Desert Protectors change the cost/benefit of combat — troop losses create 10x stronger elite troops
- Spice Wars demand — heroes are evaluated not just on raw power but on their contribution to faction PvP twice per week
- All previous Exclusive Weapons carry forward — Kimberly, DVA, Murphy, and Carlie's weapons are now standard equipment
For the core hero mechanics (rarities, skills, star upgrades, Tactics cards), see the Pre-Season 1 Hero Guide. This guide focuses on what changes in Season 3.
Season 3 Hero Tier List
S-Tier (Top Priority Investment)
A-Tier (Strong Investment)
B-Tier (Situational)
Key Tier Changes from Season 2
Scarlett: B-Tier to A-Tier
The most significant tier jump in Season 3. Scarlett's UR promotion transforms her:
- SSR stats were underwhelming — she was a shard-collection project, not a combat hero
- UR stats are competitive — she can now tank alongside Murphy in the front row
- Defensive kit scales properly — her defensive skills reach UR-tier effectiveness
- Spice Wars garrison value — a second strong Tank in your formation makes your garrison dramatically harder to crack
- If you collected shards since Season 1, promote immediately — this is free power you have been waiting for
Marshall: A-Tier to S-Tier
Marshall's Exclusive Weapon pushes him into S-Tier:
- His 16.5% team-wide attack buff is amplified by the weapon
- His 30% skill cooldown reduction becomes even more impactful
- Every hero in your squad benefits — Marshall's weapon is a force multiplier, not a solo damage increase
- The weapon makes him the most valuable support hero across all squad types
- Push his weapon to Level 20, then 30 — the team-wide scaling is exceptional
Murphy: S-Tier (Remains)
Murphy stays S-Tier but his value shifts slightly:
- Spice Wars garrison defence is his new primary role — Mitigation Master in garrison is devastating
- He remains the Murphy Exception anchor for Aircraft squads
- The best rally leader for CR-gated PvE content
- No new investment needed if he is already at Level 20-30 weapon — maintain
Exclusive Weapon Priority (Season 3)
By Season 3, your weapon priority shifts to Marshall and maintenance on existing weapons:
Get all squad members' weapons to Level 20 before pushing any to Level 30. This rule from Season 1 still holds. Marshall's new weapon should reach Level 20 as fast as possible, then you can decide between pushing Marshall to 30 or bringing other weapons up.
Desert Protectors and Hero Value
Desert Protectors change how we evaluate hero combat:
- Troop losses are no longer purely negative — losing troops generates Protectors, which are 10x stronger
- Heroes that encourage combat have higher value — you want to fight regularly to maintain Protector reserves
- Garrison defence heroes are elevated — Murphy, Scarlett, Williams, and Tesla gain value because garrisons with Protectors are the key Spice Wars mechanic
- DPS heroes that crack garrisons are essential — DVA and Tesla's ability to break through Protector-reinforced defences determines Spice Wars outcomes
Season 3 Investment Strategy
For Tank Players
- Marshall — Exclusive Weapon to Level 20-30 (highest new priority)
- Scarlett — UR promote, invest in defensive skills and gear
- Kimberly — maintain, continue star promotion
- Murphy — maintain, weapon should already be high
- Mason/Williams — maintain at current levels
For Aircraft Players
- DVA — push weapon to Level 30 if not there
- Murphy — maintain for Murphy Exception
- Carlie — push weapon to Level 30 if standard formation
- Morrison/Schuyler/Lucius — maintain
For Missile Players
- Tesla — push weapon toward Level 30, continue starring up
- Fiona — increase ATK investment for Radiation scaling in Spice Wars
- McGregor/Swift/Adam — maintain
Common Season 3 Hero Mistakes
- Not promoting Scarlett to UR — if you have the shards, this is free power for Tank players
- Ignoring Marshall's Exclusive Weapon — it benefits your entire squad, not just Marshall
- Not adapting hero priorities for Spice Wars — garrison defence heroes matter more than pure PvE heroes
- Neglecting Protector generation — heroes that fight regularly are more valuable than heroes that sit idle
- Over-investing in DPS at the expense of tanks — Spice Wars garrison defence requires durable heroes
- Spreading weapon upgrades too thin — focus Marshall's weapon first, then maintain existing weapons
