Season 3 Overview: Golden Kingdom

Season Overview · 2026-03-24

Welcome to the Golden Kingdom

Season 3 drops you into ancient Egypt. Noah has uncovered the Monument of the Dead, crowned himself ruler of the desert, awakened a mummy army, and unleashed sandworms across the map. The entire progression system pivots around new season-specific mechanics — Curse Resistance replaces Virus Resistance for season content, Desert Protectors give you elite troops that hit 10x harder, and Spice becomes the ultimate ranking currency that determines who wins.

If you came from Season 2 expecting a gradual evolution, think again. Season 3 introduces more new systems than any previous season. Every alliance needs to understand them or fall behind fast.

The Core Loop

Everything in Season 3 feeds into Spice. You increase Curse Resistance to fight harder PvE content. You fight harder PvE content to earn Mithril and Sacred Water. You use those resources to upgrade buildings and troops. Those upgrades let you dominate Spice Wars. Spice is how you rank. Never lose sight of that chain.

Curse Resistance

Curse Resistance (CR) is the gating mechanic for all Season 3 PvE content. It replaces Virus Resistance as the stat that determines whether you can actually damage season monsters.

How It Works

  • Every Season 3 monster has a CR requirement
  • If your CR is below that requirement, your damage is reduced by up to 99.9%
  • This is not a gradual penalty — even being slightly under the threshold results in massive damage loss
  • The penalty applies to all damage types, including skills and energy damage

The Rally Leader Rule

This is the single most important mechanic to understand for alliance PvE:

The rally leader's CR applies to all rally participants. If your alliance leader has 500 CR and leads the rally, every participant benefits from that 500 CR — regardless of their own CR level.

  • Always have your highest-CR player lead rallies against season monsters
  • Lower-CR players can still contribute full damage as rally participants
  • This means your alliance only needs one or two high-CR players to unlock content for everyone

For the full breakdown, see the Curse Resistance Guide.

Desert Protectors

Desert Protectors are Season 3's elite troop system. They are not trained like normal troops — they are born from loss.

How Conversion Works

  • When you lose regular units in battle, a small portion converts into Desert Protectors
  • Desert Protectors are 10x stronger than the regular troops they were created from
  • They are housed in the Protector's Field building
  • They are consumed in battle — once a Desert Protector dies, it is gone
The Desert Protector Cycle

Desert Protectors require constant replenishment. You lose troops to create them, then you lose them in battle. This means you need a steady stream of regular troop losses to keep your Protector count high. Players who avoid all combat will have zero Protectors when they need them most — during Spice Wars and the Faction Duel.

Managing Your Protectors

  • Fight season PvE content regularly to generate Protector conversions
  • Upgrade the Protector's Field to increase housing capacity and enhance their stats
  • Do not hoard them indefinitely — they are meant to be spent in key battles
  • Before Spice Wars, make sure your Protector count is topped off

Spice Wars

Spice Wars is Season 3's headline PvP event and the primary way to earn Spice — the ranking currency.

Schedule

Two rounds per week, typically on Wednesday and Saturday. Mark your calendar. Missing Spice Wars means falling behind in rankings with no way to catch up.

Factions

All alliances are divided into two factions:

FactionDetails
Scarlet LegionOne of two competing factions. Assigned at the start of Season 3
Golden TribeThe opposing faction. Same mechanics, different banner

Spice Theft Mechanics

The core of Spice Wars is stealing Spice from the enemy faction:

  • You can steal up to 30% of enemy Spice per round
  • Each secondary building destroyed steals 5% of their Spice
  • Destroying the Alliance Center steals 10% of their Spice
  • This means you need to destroy the Alliance Center plus four secondary buildings to hit the 30% cap

Defence and Offence Priorities

On defence: Protect your Alliance Center above all else. It is worth 10% — double any other building. Stack your strongest garrison and Desert Protectors there.

On offence: Target secondary buildings first. Each one is a guaranteed 5% steal and they are typically less defended than the Alliance Center. If you can take four secondary buildings (20%) without touching the center, that may be more efficient than throwing everything at a heavily fortified Alliance Center.

For the full strategy breakdown, see the Spice Wars Strategy Guide.

Faction Duel (Week 7)

The Faction Duel is the ultimate PvP battle of Season 3, pitting Scarlet Legion against Golden Tribe in a winner-take-all showdown.

Structure

  • Days 1-6: Invasion Right Contest — alliances compete for the right to participate in the final battle
  • Day 7: The Faction Duel itself — the culmination of the entire season's preparation
  • Everything you have built — CR, Desert Protectors, Spice reserves, alliance coordination — gets tested here
Start Preparing in Week 1

The Faction Duel happens in Week 7, but preparation starts immediately. Alliances that spend weeks 1-6 maximising CR, stockpiling Desert Protectors, and practising Spice Wars coordination will dominate the Duel. Do not treat the first six weeks as warmup — they are your training camp.

Key Resources

Season 3 introduces three critical resources alongside the usual suspects:

ResourceHow to Get It
MithrilDropped by Mummy Warlords and earned from Digging Strongholds. Used for building upgrades and research
Sacred WaterProduced by Blessing Fountains and traded from the Desert Bazaar. Used for Curse Research and Protector enhancements
SpiceEarned primarily through Spice Wars. The ultimate ranking currency — your Spice total determines your Season 3 standing
Sandworm ScalesDropped by sandworms. Traded in the Desert Bazaar for Sacred Water and other resources

Key Buildings

Season 3 adds several new buildings to your base. Upgrade priority matters — resources are tight early on.

BuildingPriority and Purpose
Curse Research LabHighest priority. Increases your Curse Resistance. Without CR, you cannot participate in season PvE content
Blessing FountainHigh priority. Produces Sacred Water passively. Higher levels mean faster production — start early
Protector's FieldHigh priority. Houses and enhances Desert Protectors. Capacity limits how many Protectors you can store
Digging StrongholdsMedium priority. Source of Mithril. Upgrade when you have spare builders

Upgrade Order

  1. Curse Research Lab — CR gates everything. Get this to a functional level before anything else
  2. Blessing Fountain — Sacred Water production compounds over time, so starting early matters
  3. Protector's Field — you need capacity before Spice Wars begin
  4. Digging Strongholds — Mithril income supports the other buildings

Desert Bazaar

The Desert Bazaar is Season 3's trading post. The key trade you care about:

  • Sandworm Scales → Sacred Water — this is the primary conversion. Kill sandworms, collect scales, trade for Sacred Water
  • Check the Bazaar regularly for favourable exchange rates
  • Do not let Sandworm Scales pile up in your inventory — convert them as you earn them since Sacred Water is always needed

Cross-Season Tips

Hot Deal Events

Season 3 Hot Deal events use the Roulette format. If you have been saving gems or deal currency from previous seasons, understand that the spending mechanics are different from Season 1 and Season 2 deals. Study the Roulette odds before you spin.

Scarlett UR Promotion

Scarlett upgrades from SSR to UR in Season 3. If you collected her shards during Seasons 1 and 2 as recommended, this is an immediate power spike for Tank squads. Her UR promotion makes her a strong defensive hero — a meaningful upgrade from her SSR stats.

  • If you skipped Scarlett shard collection, you can still acquire shards during Season 3 events
  • Her UR promotion does not require any new materials beyond the standard promotion path
  • She slots into Tank squads as a solid defensive option alongside Murphy

Season 3 Progression Checklist

  1. Curse Research Lab built and upgrading — CR is the first gate
  2. Blessing Fountain producing Sacred Water — start the passive income immediately
  3. Protector's Field built — ready to receive Desert Protectors
  4. First Mummy Warlord rally completed — test your CR level
  5. Spice Wars participation started — do not miss a single round
  6. Scarlett UR-promoted (Tank players) — free power if you have the shards
  7. Sandworm Scales being traded — keep the Desert Bazaar pipeline flowing
  8. Alliance rally leader identified — your highest-CR player leads every season rally
  9. Faction Duel preparation begun — coordinate with your faction from Week 1
  10. Digging Strongholds upgraded — steady Mithril income established

Common Season 3 Mistakes

  1. Ignoring Curse Resistance — without CR, you literally cannot damage season content. It is not optional
  2. Low-CR players leading rallies — the leader's CR applies to everyone. A bad leader wastes the entire alliance's time
  3. Hoarding Desert Protectors — they exist to be used. Sitting on Protectors while losing Spice Wars is pointless
  4. Missing Spice Wars rounds — only two per week. Each missed round is ranking points you can never recover
  5. Neglecting the Blessing Fountain — Sacred Water production is time-gated. Starting late means being permanently behind
  6. Not trading Sandworm Scales — scales sitting in your inventory are wasted Sacred Water
  7. Underestimating the Faction Duel — Week 7 arrives fast. If you are not ready, no amount of last-minute grinding will save you
