Alliance Squad Coordination (Season 5)

Alliance Strategy · 2026-03-24

Why Coordination Is Everything in Season 5

Season 5 demands more alliance coordination than any previous season. Bank Strongholds require daily PvP defence. City captures happen only on Wednesdays and Saturdays, meaning concentrated effort on those days. The Trade Train needs escorts and raiders. Sundays are Truce Day for planning. And the CrystalGold economy means every decision has compound consequences.

Season 5 Coordination Reality

An uncoordinated alliance will lose its banks, fail city captures, and fall hopelessly behind in CrystalGold rankings. The compound interest from Bank Strongholds means that every day you fail to defend a bank or miss a deposit is a loss that compounds over the entire season. Season 5 is won by alliances that coordinate daily, not just during events.

Season 5 Triangle Balance

The combat triangle is more balanced in Season 5 than any previous season:

  • Missile squads are now genuinely competitive with Fiona's Exclusive Weapon and Venom UR
  • Aircraft remains strong but Morrison's weapon is a squad improvement, not a meta shift
  • Tank squads are the most versatile with four Exclusive Weapons and Scarlett UR
  • No single type dominates — alliances need real coverage across all three types

Ideal Alliance Composition (Season 5)

Squad TypeRecommended Percentage
Aircraft30-35% — still the strongest PvP type for offensive operations
Missile30-35% — Fiona's weapon and Venom UR make Missiles the best they have ever been
Tank30-35% — essential for Bank defence, rally leadership, and Missile hunting

No class should be less than 25%. The balanced triangle means any under-represented type creates an exploitable weakness. If your alliance is short on Missile players, actively recruit — Fiona's weapon makes Missiles attractive for new builds.

Bank Stronghold Defence Coordination

Banks are capturable every day except Sunday. Your alliance needs a daily defence plan.

Defence Rotation

  • Assign 2-3 defenders per Bank Stronghold based on time zones
  • Rotate defenders daily so no one burns out
  • Prioritise defending banks with active deposits — a bank with a 4-day deposit about to mature at 350% is worth fighting for
  • Empty banks are expendable — let them go if defending them costs more than they generate

Defence Squad Assignment

RoleBest Squad Type
Garrison defenderTank squads with Murphy. His Mitigation Master in garrison makes banks extremely hard to take
Counter-rally responseMatch type to attacker. Aircraft against Tank raiders, Missiles against Aircraft raiders
Quick responseAny strong squad with March Speed coffee from the Caffeine Institute

Deposit Coordination

  • Spread deposits across multiple banks — losing one bank should not wipe out all CrystalGold
  • Stagger deposit timings so matured deposits return on different days, not all at once
  • Weaker members deposit in the most defensible banks — losing a deposit is devastating for low-income players
  • See Bank Strongholds Guide for full deposit strategy

City Capture Coordination (Wednesday/Saturday)

Cities are only capturable two days a week. This concentrates alliance effort and raises the stakes.

Pre-Capture Planning

Every Tuesday and Friday evening, your alliance should finalize:

  1. Target list — which cities to attack, in priority order
  2. Defence list — which of your cities need reinforcement
  3. Rally leaders — assign by type matchup against the target
  4. Counter-pick assignments — who handles which enemy squad type
  5. Caffeine coordination — everyone brews Skill Damage coffee before the capture window

Capture Strategy

TargetApproach
Weakly held enemy cityQuick rally with your strongest type. Take it fast and move on
Strongly held enemy cityCoordinate type-matched waves. Scout garrison type first. Send counter-type rally
Your city under attackReinforce with Tank squads. Murphy garrison is the strongest defence. Rally the alliance for defence

Why Cities Matter More Than Territory

Each city captured adds +1 to your Bank Stronghold limit. This means:

  • Taking a city from an opponent does double damage — you gain a slot, they lose one
  • An alliance with 8 cities can hold 12 banks; an alliance with 2 cities can hold 6
  • The compound interest difference between 12 banks and 6 banks is enormous over a season
  • City captures are the highest-impact alliance activity on Wednesday and Saturday

Trade Train Coordination

Starting Week 2, the Trade Train creates new coordination requirements.

Escort Assignments

  • Assign 2-3 escort squads per delivery
  • Tank squads make excellent escorts due to durability
  • Rotate escort duty among members to prevent burnout

Raiding Coordination

  • Raiding other players' deliveries is high-risk, high-reward
  • Only attempt with alliance coordination — solo raids expose your troops
  • Aircraft burst is ideal for quick raids — in and out before the escort responds
  • Convert stolen goods to CrystalGold and deposit immediately in Bank Strongholds

Delivery Timing

  • Run deliveries on Sundays (Truce Day) for lowest risk — no bank captures means fewer hostile forces on the map
  • Coordinate deliveries to run simultaneously for mutual protection
  • Whiskey conversion is the primary fuel for your banking economy

Sunday Truce Day Planning

Sundays are the only day banks cannot be captured. Use them for:

  1. Safe deposits — deposit CrystalGold without fear of losing banks
  2. Review deposit schedule — which deposits mature this week? Which banks need fresh deposits?
  3. Plan Wednesday capture targets — gather intelligence on enemy positions
  4. Plan Saturday capture targets — secondary target list
  5. Roster review — update squad type tracking for all members
  6. Trade Train deliveries — reduced PvP risk on the map
  7. Alliance communication — strategy discussions, role assignments, feedback

Caffeine Coordination

The Caffeine Institute is an alliance-level coordination tool:

  • Before city captures: remind all members to brew Skill Damage coffee
  • Before bank defence: remind garrison defenders to brew Troop Defence coffee
  • Before Trade Train: remind escorts to brew March Speed or Troop HP coffee
  • Officers should post coffee reminders 30 minutes before any coordinated activity

Common Season 5 Coordination Mistakes

  1. No daily bank defence rotation — banks are capturable every day. Undefended banks with deposits get raided
  2. Not concentrating effort on Wed/Sat for cities — cities can only be captured two days a week. Missing a capture window costs a week
  3. Uncoordinated Trade Train — solo deliveries get raided. Solo raids fail. Always coordinate
  4. Not using Sundays for planning — Truce Day exists for a reason. Use it
  5. Ignoring Caffeine reminders — the stat difference between coffee-buffed and unbuffed squads is too large to overlook
  6. Not tracking Season 5 weapons on the roster — Fiona's weapon, Morrison's weapon, Venom UR all change combat calculus. Know who has what
  7. All deposits in one bank — if that bank falls, your alliance loses everything. Spread deposits across multiple banks
  8. Not recruiting Missile players — Missiles are now competitive. Your alliance needs equal type coverage
