Missile Vehicle Squad Guide (Season 5)
Missiles in Season 5: The Revolution
Season 5 is the season where Missile squads stop being the counter-pick and become a primary squad. Two massive changes land simultaneously: Fiona's Exclusive Weapon transforms her into the strongest Missile carry in the game, and Venom's UR promotion adds a powerful new hero to the roster. For the first time in the game's history, Missiles are genuinely competitive with Aircraft as a primary squad.
If you invested in Fiona shards since Season 1 (as recommended in previous guides), Season 5 is your payoff. Fiona's Exclusive Weapon makes her Radiation DoT the most devastating sustained damage mechanic in the game. Combined with Venom UR and T11 troops, Missile squads can now go toe-to-toe with Aircraft in open PvP. The combat triangle is more balanced than ever.
What Changed from Season 4
Fiona's Exclusive Weapon — The Biggest Change
Fiona's Exclusive Weapon arrives in Season 5 and it is game-changing:
- Massively amplified Radiation DoT — her damage-over-time stacking becomes the strongest sustained damage in the game
- Physical damage output scales even harder with ATK stats and Tactics cards
- She moves from co-carry to primary carry in many Missile formations
- Push her weapon to Level 20 immediately, then Level 30 — this is the single highest-impact investment for Missile players in Season 5
Venom UR Promotion
Venom is the Season 5 signature hero, a Missile-type hero promotable to UR:
- UR stats make him significantly stronger than SSR alternatives
- His kit is designed around Season 5 mechanics
- Shards are more accessible during Season 5 through events and the season shop
- He fits naturally into the Missile formation as a strong secondary contributor
- Promote to UR as soon as possible — see the Season 5 Overview for shard sources
Caffeine Institute Buffs
The Caffeine Institute is critical for Missile squads:
- Missileer Bar provides Missile-specific bonuses on top of base coffee VR buffs
- Skill Damage coffee amplifies Fiona's Radiation stacking and Tesla's Lightning Chain
- Pairs exceptionally well with Fiona's Exclusive Weapon for devastating PvP burst
- The +200 to +500 VR is non-negotiable — never fight without coffee active
T11 Troops Standard
T11 troops from Season 4 are the baseline. All calculations assume T11.
The Squad: Season 5 Formation
Venom's arrival changes the Missile formation. Fiona's Exclusive Weapon elevates her to primary carry status.
Fiona's Exclusive Weapon moves her from co-carry to primary carry. In previous seasons, Tesla was the undisputed Missile DPS. In Season 5, Fiona's amplified Radiation DoT deals more sustained damage than Tesla's Lightning Chain in most scenarios. Tesla remains essential for his energy damage and burst, but Fiona is now the hero you invest in first. Position her in the left back-row slot behind your strongest tank.
Alternative: Keeping McGregor
If your Venom is not yet UR-promoted or sufficiently invested:
- Keep McGregor in the right front-row slot
- Venom replaces McGregor once he reaches UR with functional gear and skills
- All new investment should go toward Venom — he outscales McGregor at equivalent investment
Hero Investment Order (Season 5)
1. Fiona (First Priority — New)
Fiona's Exclusive Weapon makes her the top Missile investment:
- Push Exclusive Weapon to Level 20 immediately, then Level 30
- ATK Tactics cards are highest priority — Radiation scales directly off ATK
- If you collected shards since Season 1, she should be at high stars already
- Her Gun should be at Mythic tier if possible
2. Tesla (Second Priority)
Tesla remains essential as the co-carry:
- Exclusive Weapon should be at Level 30
- Continue star promotion and Mythic gear progression
- His energy damage complements Fiona's physical damage perfectly
3. Venom (Third Priority — New)
Venom's UR promotion makes him the key new roster addition:
- Promote to UR as soon as shards are available
- Invest in damage skills and survivability
- Gets gear after both carries are fully equipped
- His UR stats make him worth the investment over McGregor long-term
4. Swift (Fourth Priority)
Support and utility unchanged:
- Continue squad buff skill investment
- Functional gear level
5. Adam (Fifth Priority)
Front-line tank:
- Defensive skills and Radar for survivability
- Enough investment to survive T11 combat
Playing Missiles in Season 5
Against Aircraft (Your Strength — Now Devastating)
With Fiona's Exclusive Weapon, you do not just counter Aircraft — you destroy them:
- Fiona's amplified Radiation shreds Aircraft front lines — even Murphy Exception formations melt
- Tesla's energy damage bypasses Aircraft defensive stats
- Brew Skill Damage coffee from the Caffeine Institute before hunting Aircraft
- You are your alliance's primary answer to Aircraft squads in Bank raids and city captures
Against Tanks (Your Weakness — Still Relevant)
Tanks still counter Missiles, and they have four Exclusive Weapons now:
- Avoid Tank opponents when possible — Murphy's durability is higher than ever
- Let your Aircraft teammates handle Tanks
- If forced to fight, Fiona's Radiation DoT is your best chance — it stacks damage over time even against Williams' damage reduction
Bank Stronghold Raids (Daily)
Missiles are excellent Bank raiders in Season 5:
- Fiona's sustained damage wears down garrisons that Aircraft burst cannot one-shot
- Tesla's energy damage bypasses physical-focused garrison defences
- Scout the garrison type — attack Aircraft-garrisoned banks, avoid Tank-garrisoned ones
- Deposit raided CrystalGold into your own Bank Strongholds for compound returns
City Captures (Wednesday/Saturday)
Missile squads are valuable city capture participants:
- Coordinate with your alliance to target Aircraft-defended cities
- Fiona's Radiation DoT shreds city garrison heroes over time
- Brew Skill Damage or Troop Attack coffee before capture rallies
Trade Train
The Trade Train starting Week 2 creates new PvP opportunities:
- Missile squads can escort or raid Trade Train deliveries
- Fiona's sustained damage is excellent for drawn-out escort fights
- Whiskey conversion to CrystalGold feeds your banking economy
