Alliance Duel VS (Season 5)
VS in Season 5
Alliance Duel VS follows the same 6-day structure, but Season 5 creates the hardest resource trade-offs VS has ever demanded. You are now splitting resources between Bank deposits (compound interest), Trade Train investment (Whiskey conversion), VS saving (Day 5 speedups and Day 4 hero items), and your general progression. The CrystalGold economy adds a financial dimension to every VS decision.
For the full day-by-day mechanics, see the Alliance Duel VS Guide.
Every resource you save for VS is a resource not earning compound interest in your banks. Speedups saved for Friday cannot be used to accelerate Trade Train deliveries. Hero items saved for Thursday cannot boost your Exclusive Weapons mid-week. Season 5 forces you to make trade-offs that previous seasons never demanded. The answer is not to skip VS — the rewards are too good. The answer is to be more disciplined about exactly what you save and what you spend.
What Is Different in Season 5
Resource Competition with the CrystalGold Economy
The Bank Stronghold system creates new resource tensions:
- CrystalGold in the season shop can buy hero items (Day 4) and speedups — but that CrystalGold earns 350% interest if deposited instead
- Trade Train deliveries generate CrystalGold but require troop commitments that compete with VS Day 6 readiness
- Coffee production from the Caffeine Institute needs managing alongside VS preparation
- Smart resource allocation is the difference between winning VS and falling behind in the banking economy
Four New Exclusive Weapons on Day 6
Day 6 combat is more lethal than ever with four new Exclusive Weapons:
- Fiona's weapon makes Missile squads a genuine Day 6 threat — they can now burst as hard as Aircraft
- Morrison's weapon amplifies Aircraft burst damage even further
- Stetmann's weapon makes Tank squads hit harder in defensive positions
- Venom UR adds a new strong hero to Missile Day 6 squads
- The power gap between weapon-equipped and non-equipped squads is the largest it has ever been
Caffeine Buffs for Combat Days
Coffee buffs from the Caffeine Institute are critical on Day 6:
- Brew Skill Damage coffee before Day 6 combat for maximum burst
- Brew Troop Defence coffee if defending against stronger opponents
- A player with coffee active versus a player without has a significant stat advantage
- Never enter Day 6 combat without a coffee buff active
Season 5 Day Priority
Season 5 Day 5 Strategy
Day 5 remains your most consistent win condition. The waterfall training strategy with T11 troops generates massive points:
- Save ALL speedups Monday through Thursday — this discipline is non-negotiable
- T11 waterfall training earns more points per cycle than any previous season — see Waterfall Training
- Do not spend speedups on Trade Train deliveries during VS week — those speedups are worth more as Day 5 training points
- Coordinate alliance-wide — every member training on Friday
- 4x training multiplier makes this the most efficient day regardless of opponent strength
Season 5 Day 6 Strategy
Day 6 is transformed by four new Exclusive Weapons and Caffeine buffs:
Type-Matched Combat (Season 5 Updated)
Caffeine Advantage on Day 6
A player with Skill Damage coffee active and a class-specific Bar bonus has a significant stat advantage over a player without. On Day 6, this is the difference between winning a close fight and losing it. Every alliance member should have coffee brewed and active before the Day 6 window opens. Officers should remind the alliance 30 minutes before.
When to Shield in Season 5
The four new Exclusive Weapons create larger power gaps:
- If your opponent has Fiona's weapon and you run Aircraft without Missile counter-squads, consider shielding your Aircraft members against Missile attackers
- If your opponent has Morrison's weapon and you run Tanks without equal gear, strategic shielding saves T11 troops
- T11 troop losses are extremely expensive to replace — shielding is smarter than losing troops in unwinnable fights
Season 5 Resource Trade-off Framework
Season 5 Preparation Checklist
Common Season 5 VS Mistakes
- Spending CrystalGold on hero items in the season shop during VS week — deposit it instead. The compound interest dwarfs the Day 4 point value
- Skipping coffee for Day 6 combat — the stat advantage from Caffeine buffs is too large to ignore
- Not adapting Day 6 to four new Exclusive Weapons — blindly engaging without scouting for Fiona's weapon, Morrison's weapon, etc. leads to unnecessary losses
- Using speedups on Trade Train during VS week — those speedups are Day 5 points. Trade Train can wait
- Ignoring the Saturday double-duty — Saturday is both Day 6 combat AND a city capture window. Plan for both
- Not brewing the right coffee for the situation — Skill Damage for attacking, Defence for holding
