VIP Guide
What Is VIP?
VIP is the single most efficient gem investment in Last War: Survival. It has two layers:
- VIP Level — permanent. Each level unlocks specific perks that stay forever once earned
- VIP Time — temporary. The level's bonuses (resource production, construction speed, etc.) only activate when you have VIP Time running
Most players neglect VIP early-game because gems are tempting to spend on summons or speedups. Don't. VIP 6 alone — the second-builder unlock — is worth more than every other gem-purchasable item combined.
If you spend gems on anything other than VIP before reaching VIP 6, you are slowing your progress. Speedups, summon tickets, hero EXP packs all eventually return to zero. VIP levels are permanent. The second builder at VIP 6 effectively doubles your building speed for the rest of your account's life. Reach VIP 6 first; everything else is secondary.
The Two Layers Explained
VIP Level (Permanent)
Earned by accumulating VIP Points. Once a level is reached, it stays — you cannot lose VIP levels. Each level grants permanent unlocks (the second builder at 6, Agent Shirley at 8, etc.) and increases the cap on bonuses available during VIP Time.
VIP Time (Activated)
The bonuses listed at each VIP level only apply when you have VIP Time active. VIP Time is bought with diamonds:
The 30-day option is the best value once you can sustain it. Some level-up rewards also grant 1 hour of free VIP Time — claim those whenever you hit a new level.
The permanent perks (second builder, Agent Shirley, base skin, etc.) stay active regardless of whether VIP Time is running. Only the percentage-bonus stats (resource production, construction speed, etc.) depend on VIP Time being active. So even without VIP Time, hitting VIP 6 still gives you the second builder forever.
VIP Levels 1-18
Cumulative point thresholds and key permanent unlock at each level. The percentage-based bonuses (resource production, march speed, construction speed) layer on top during VIP Time.
The Critical Levels
For most players, these are the milestones to plan around:
- VIP 6 (15,000 cumulative points) — second builder queue. This effectively doubles your building speed forever. Top priority for every player
- VIP 7 (30,000) — automation features. Makes the daily grind dramatically lighter for F2P players. Considered the "sweet spot"
- VIP 8 (50,000) — Agent Shirley unlock. A permanent HQ survivor who buffs march size and attack
- VIP 9 (100,000) — ~60% faster building during VIP Time. Major mid-game progression boost
- VIP 11 (250,000) — +50% construction + 15% research speed. The construction-speed power spike
- VIP 14+ (2,000,000+) — substantial combat buffs including hero level boosts. Whale territory
The cost curve is back-loaded: VIP 1-6 takes 15,000 cumulative points; VIP 14-18 takes another ~48 million.
How to Earn VIP Points
F2P Math: Free VIP Points Per Day
If you log in daily and claim every free chest, you'll accumulate roughly 200-300 VIP Points per day. Cumulative thresholds tell you the timeline:
In practice, alliance gifts and event rewards push F2P progression faster than the pure 200/day baseline — most active F2P players reach VIP 6 in 30-50 days, not 75.
VIP Store Strategy
The VIP Store is one of the most underrated systems in the game.
You don't need VIP Time active to use the VIP Store — only the level needs to be unlocked. Items refresh every Monday. Many items are at up to 80% discount compared to standard shop prices. Check it weekly even when not running VIP Time.
Priority items in the VIP Store:
- Hero shards for heroes you're building — biggest absolute value when discounted
- Speedup packs — discounted speedups beat real-money speedup purchases
- Stamina refills — useful during Zombie Invasion / coin-farming events
- Hero EXP packs — for accelerating hero levelling
- Resource packs — lowest priority unless you're in a specific resource crunch
Recommended Strategy
Early Game (HQ 1-15, no VIP yet)
- Save every gem — do not spend on speedups, summons, or anything else. Gems compound into VIP Time
- Claim the daily VIP Chest religiously — 200/day is your baseline progression
- Join an alliance early — alliance gift VIP points speed up your progression noticeably
- Don't activate VIP Time yet — wait until you have specific use for the bonuses (a big build, an event)
Push to VIP 6
- Activate 24-hour VIP Time around big events or HQ pushes — get the most out of construction speed during VIP Time
- If you can spend a small amount real-money, buy a Growth Fund — Growth Fund is the single best $-spent in the game, and includes VIP Points among other rewards. See the Hot Deals Guide
- Hit VIP 6 before considering any other gem spend — second builder is non-negotiable
Mid Game (VIP 6 → VIP 11)
- Switch to 7-day VIP Time — 3,000 diamonds for 7 days = ~430/day. Better value than 24-hour activations
- Push toward VIP 7 for automation features
- Continue claiming free daily chests — never miss a day
- Save event-reward VIP packs for milestones — they accelerate progression dramatically when timed right
Late Game (VIP 11+)
- Activate 30-day VIP Time — 10,000 diamonds for 30 days = ~330/day, the best value tier
- VIP 14+ requires sustained spending — plan accordingly
- VIP 18 is whale territory — only chase it for the cosmetic skin if you genuinely value the prestige
Common Mistakes
- Spending gems on speedups or summons before VIP 6 — biggest gem-management mistake in the game. The second builder is worth more than any individual speedup
- Activating VIP Time at random — coordinate VIP Time with active building queues, research queues, or events that benefit from the bonuses
- Not claiming the daily VIP Chest — even a single missed day is lost permanent progression
- Buying VIP Time without an active project — the percentage bonuses do nothing if you have no builds running
- Buying generic resource packs in the VIP Store — heroes, speedups, and stamina are far better discounted-value picks
- Chasing VIP 18 for the cosmetic — only valuable if you specifically value the prestige skin. The diminishing returns past VIP 14 are severe
