How Season 2 Plays Out

Season 2 is survival season. Temperature gates everything: drop below -20°C and you lose the ability to rally, teleport, gather, and heal at full speed. The whole season is structured around managing heat sources while accumulating Rare Soil — the ranking resource that rewards consistency over burst. Season 2 runs roughly 8-10 weeks.

The Two Clocks of Season 2

Furnace progression is your survival clock. Rare Soil accumulation is your ranking clock. Both run from Day 1. Falling behind on the Furnace gets you locked out of combat during Cold Waves; falling behind on Rare Soil leaves you out of contention for end-of-season rewards. There is no catching up on either — you are either ahead of schedule or losing.

Week 0 — Season 1 → Season 2 Transition

The transition window. What changes the moment Season 2 opens:

Hot Deal currency switches to Spins — Roulette tokens no longer work. Spend remaining Roulette on the last Season 1 cycle
Temperature system goes live — your base now reads a temperature value
Coal becomes a managed resource — your furnace burns it constantly
No inter-server wars — all combat is within your server. Diplomacy with neighbours becomes critical
Goal: Speedups banked for early Furnace push, Coal stockpile started, alliance committed to a strategic position

Week 1 — Furnace Foundation (Avoid the Lockout)

Your only priority is staying above -20°C. Everything else is secondary.

High-Heat Furnace upgrades begin immediately — speedup-rush early levels
Build all available Titanium Alloy Factories — you will need 4 (or 5 with the season pass)
Stay near the Alliance Furnace — relocate if you are not already in the hive
Coal production running 24/7 — never let coal stockpile drop near zero
Identify nearby Rare Soil dig sites — alliance scouting starts Day 1
Goal: Furnace Lv5+, all factories built, Coal income exceeding consumption

Week 2 — Rare Soil Production Online

Rare Soil is the ranking resource and it accumulates over the entire season. Every hour without production is permanent ranking damage.

Capture and hold Rare Soil dig sites — your alliance's first major coordinated push
Capture Rare Soil cities — limited to 6 towns and 4 dig sites per alliance
Coal stockpile maintained — Cold Waves are coming
Furnace Lv10+ — temperature margin grows
Polar Dishes event — cooking event with strong rewards. Do not skip
Goal: Rare Soil income running, dig sites secured, Furnace Lv10

Week 3-4 — First Cold Wave Window

Cold Waves are server-wide temperature drops that test whether your Furnace setup is strong enough. The first Cold Wave is the alliance-wide pressure check.

Stockpile Coal heavily before Cold Wave hits — burn rate spikes during the event
Furnace Lv15-20 — minimum recommended for Cold Wave survival
Defend the Alliance Furnace — losing it during a Cold Wave cascades into lockouts
Beast Crisis events — coordinated defence of the Alliance Furnace against attacking waves
Captured cities raise area temperature — alliance benefits compound
Goal: Survived first Cold Wave at full combat capability, Furnace Lv15-20, Beast Crisis defended

Cold Wave Reality Check

You cannot react to a Cold Wave after it starts. Your Furnace level, Coal stockpile, and Alliance Furnace position must be set before the event begins. Players who try to "just upgrade quickly" when the event hits get locked out. Preparation, not reaction.

Week 5-6 — Mid-Season Push

The middle of Season 2 is where alliances either consolidate their lead or fall behind permanently. Rare Soil accumulation is what matters.

Furnace Lv20+ — comfortable margin against Cold Waves
Maximum Rare Soil holdings — push for full 6 towns + 4 dig sites
Sandworm farming for Sandworm Scales (if applicable to your server's exchange windows)
Diplomacy with neighbours — there are no external enemies. Burning bridges costs you for the rest of the season
Star promotion to 5-Star — the third major gear spike. Mythic gear becomes accessible
Goal: Furnace Lv25+, full Rare Soil capacity, alliance's diplomatic position locked in

Week 7-8 — Late-Season Cold Waves and Beast Crisis

Late-season Cold Waves are more frequent and more severe. Your preparation during weeks 1-6 pays off — or fails to.

Furnace Lv28-30 — push to max if possible
Major Beast Crisis events — full alliance defence required
Hold every captured location — losing a Rare Soil city late costs ranking permanently
Polar Dishes second window — second cooking event cycle
Coal continues to dominate daily play — never run out
Goal: Furnace Lv30, no lost Rare Soil holdings, Beast Crises survived

Week 9-10 — Closing Out

The Rare Soil leaderboard locks in over the final weeks. Hold what you have and prepare for Season 3's Curse Resistance system.

Lock in Rare Soil holdings — defend rather than overextend
Stop major Furnace investment — Season 3 has different priorities (Curse Research Lab)
Save speedups for Season 3 transition — Curse Research Lab needs early investment
Begin Curse Resistance research awareness — read up before Season 3 hits
Goal: Final Rare Soil ranking secure, speedups banked for S3, alliance committed for next season

Skipping Beast Crisis defence — losing the Alliance Furnace cascades into temperature problems for many members
Starting Rare Soil production late — every day without income is permanent ranking damage
Burning bridges with neighbours — there are no external enemies. You are stuck with these alliances all season
Not building enough Titanium Alloy Factories — Furnace upgrades stall without titanium
Spending Roulette tokens after Season 2 starts — currency switched to Spins. Old tokens are useless
