What to Save & When — Big-Ticket Saving Priorities
Why Saving Ahead Wins
Most of Last War's biggest power jumps are windowed — a UR hero window, a new Exclusive Weapon, an Awakening pass, the Overlord unlock. Players who start hoarding the right currency a season early hit those windows fully stocked and finish them cheaply. Players who react on the day scramble and often miss the free/guaranteed tier. Golden Rules
1. Don't open resource chests early. Unopened chests are a savings account that never expires — crack them only when you're about to spend (see Resource Management).
2. Hit the season goal early. The free UR / Awakening badge is usually locked behind an early-weeks season goal — get it before Week 3.
3. Ring-fence "Universal" currencies. Universal Overlord Shards, Universal Awakening Shards and the like are your flexibility — don't burn them on whatever's in front of you; save them for the target you actually want.
4. Buy the right Black Market boxes. Between seasons, prioritise the boxes that feed your next big target (EW/UR shards) over filler.
5. Prepare one window ahead. Whatever's coming next season, start stockpiling this season.
