What Is Season 6?

Season 6, titled Lost Rainforest (also referred to as Shadow Rainforest in some translations), is the current endgame season in Last War: Survival. It is the biggest strategic shift since Season 1 — introducing faction warfare, a permanent City Destruction mechanic, the Altars strategic system, and the Hero Awakening progression system that replaces Exclusive Weapons as the season's headline feature.

Why Season 6 Is Different

Earlier seasons scaled up your army and added new mechanics on top of existing maps. Season 6 rewrites the strategic layer: your alliance picks a faction, alliance skills now matter as much as hero skills, and enemy cities can be permanently destroyed for the rest of the season. If your alliance is not coordinated, S6 punishes you harder than any prior season.

The Map

The Season 6 map is approximately 9 times the size of the Season 0 map — on par with the Season 5 map in raw area. The geography is split across three clans:

Players pick Deepwood or Wetland during Pre-Season Faction Awards. The Great River central region is not playable as a faction — it is the contested battlefield where both sides fight for resources and Altars.

The Three Clans

The narrative frame: the Great River that sustained all three clans has been poisoned by an unknown virus. Zombies now run rampant through the neutral region. Deepwood and Wetland blame each other; the Great River Clan tries and fails to keep the peace. Your alliance picks a side and wages a season-long war.

Mechanically, Deepwood and Wetland are symmetric playable factions — the same building options, research, and heroes are available to both. Which clan you join is mostly about which alliances committed to which side in pre-season.

Headline Features

1. Faction Warfare

Your alliance commits to one of the two factions. Rewards, territory, and end-of-season rankings are tracked per faction. This is cross-server by design — the losing faction is beaten by the collective might of the winning one, not by a single alliance.

2. Altars (Central Region)

Altars are capturable structures scattered through the Great River region. Controlling them grants faction-wide alliance skills — the most impactful of which include:

Warlord Missile — coordinated alliance-wide strike
Fortify — defensive buff
Cooldown Reset — resets key alliance skill cooldowns

Altars have levels (Level 1-3+), with higher-level Altars granting stronger skills. You do not need adjacent territory to capture an Altar — any alliance in your faction can hold them.

3. City Destruction

The most permanent change in S6. When your faction attacks an enemy city and reaches 100% attack progress, that city is destroyed forever — it cannot be rebuilt for the remainder of the season.

Destroyed cities permanently reduce the enemy faction's influence points and rankings. City Destruction is not a reversible blow — it rewrites the map and the end-of-season score.

4. Hero Awakening

S6's flagship hero-progression system. Awakening replaces the Exclusive Weapon mechanic for the season — there are no new Exclusive Weapons in S6. Instead, selected heroes gain Awakening Skills that replace and inherit from their Expertise Skill, massively boosting their power.

Three heroes receive Awakening in S6, one for each troop type:

5. Braz SSR → UR Promotion

Season 6 also introduces Braz as the SSR→UR promotion hero, continuing the per-season promotion pattern from previous seasons. See the SSR to UR Upgrade Guide for promotion window, materials, and preparation.

6. Global Expedition (New PvE Mode)

A new free PvE game mode opens in Weeks 2, 4, and 6 of Season 6. Global Expedition is the primary free source of named Awakening Shards — the alternative to the paid Battle Pass route. See the Global Expedition Guide for stages and rewards.

7. War Merit Currency

A new rare currency earned through faction warfare, spendable in the War Merit Shop for season-exclusive rewards. Has tiered ranks and daily stipends tied to your faction rank. See the War Merit Guide.

Pre-Season — What to Do Before Week 1

If your server has just entered Season 6 pre-season:

Pick your faction in Faction Awards — coordinate with your alliance. Joining the faction your alliance is committing to matters more than which clan flavour you prefer
Finish any outstanding Exclusive Weapon upgrades to Level 20+ — Awakening requires EW 20+ as a prerequisite. If Kimberly's EW is under 20, you cannot awaken her in Week 1
Stockpile Kimberly shards — the first Awakening requires 50 named Kimberly Awakening Shards. Battle Pass (paid) gives 70; Global Expedition (free) supplements
Bank War Merit goals — plan your daily faction activity so you start collecting War Merit from Day 1
Plan your squad for your faction's meta — if your faction is pushing Aircraft, invest in DVA (Week 3 Awakening). If pushing Missile, plan Tesla (Week 6)

Season 6 Strategy: Big Picture

Alliance coordination is non-negotiable. City Destruction and Altar capture both require faction-wide coordination. Solo players feel the weakest they've ever felt in Last War
Destroy strategically. A destroyed enemy city is permanent, but it is also a finite resource of destruction for your side. Target cities that cut supply lines or open paths to enemy capitals — do not just destroy whatever is nearest
Hold your Altars. High-level Altar skills (Warlord Missile, Fortify, Cooldown Reset) can turn fights that would be losing matchups into wins. Your faction's ability to hold Altars in the central region is a direct predictor of end-of-season rank
Awakening investment order — focus on the hero that matches your primary squad first. If you've run Tank all year, Kimberly Week 1 is priority one. If Aircraft, DVA Week 3. If Missile, Tesla Week 6
Engineer profession still wins early — the Profession System Guide applies in S6 as before. Switch to War Leader mid-season when alliance wars kick off

Common Mistakes in Season 6

Rushing to destroy enemy cities without coordination — City Destruction is a faction-level resource. Random solo attacks rarely reach 100% progress before the defender recovers
Ignoring Altars — not fighting for the central region means your faction fights without the alliance skills; the enemy faction will have them
Awakening Kimberly without her EW at 20+ — the prerequisite is strict. No Exclusive Weapon = no Awakening
Splitting Awakening investment across all three heroes — same mistake as the T10 guide warned about. Finish one Awakening before starting the next
Missing the Braz SSR→UR window — time-limited, just like other SSR→UR promotions. Start collecting Braz shards in pre-season
